Who we are

Home Pro Partners ("we", "us") operates a marketplace connecting homeowners with local skilled-trade professionals. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. We are based in Colorado, USA.

Information we collect

Information you provide: your name and, where relevant, date of birth, postal address, telephone number, and email address; account credentials; the content of messages you send; for Pros — business details, service area, hours, photos, and documents you upload for credential verification (e.g., insurance certificates); support requests; and newsletter sign-ups.

Payment information: card payments are handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers; we may store limited data such as the last four digits and billing status.

Information collected automatically: when you use the Service we may record technical data including your IP address, domain and ISP, the date, time and length of your visit, the pages and files you access, your referral source, and your operating system. For signed-in users this may be associated with your account; otherwise it is used in aggregate to understand and improve the Service.

How we use information

To operate the Service: create and manage accounts, deliver messages between homeowners and Pros, surface trust-ranked search results, verify credentials, process payments, and provide support.

To communicate: transactional emails (e.g., a Pro's reply, password reset, receipts), invitations you or others send, and — only if you opt in — newsletter content.

To improve and protect: analytics, fraud and abuse prevention, security, and to enforce our Terms and comply with the law. We do not sell your personal information, and we never charge per lead.

How we share information

With other users as needed to operate the Service — e.g., when you message a Pro, we share your message and contact details so they can respond.

With service providers ("processors") who act on our behalf, including Stripe (payments), SendGrid (email), Microsoft Azure (hosting and file storage), and AI providers used for optional profile-research features. These providers may process data only as needed to provide their services.

For legal reasons — to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect rights, safety, and property; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Cookies & analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, your preferences, and analytics, and we use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand how the Service is used. The technical data described above helps us measure traffic and improve the product. You can control cookies through your browser settings. A cookie/consent banner appropriate to your jurisdiction should be finalized with counsel.

Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, then for a reasonable period to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Uploaded credential documents are retained while relevant to verification.

Your rights & choices

You can access and review your personal information in your account, and request corrections or that we close your account at any time. You can also update your profile and unsubscribe from marketing emails whenever you like.

Depending on where you live (e.g., under GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to restrict or object to certain processing — including profiling for marketing based on our legitimate interests — and to withdraw consent where you previously gave it. For the European Union, Home Pro Partners acts as the data controller; some information is required to provide the Service or meet legal obligations, while other information is optional.

To exercise your rights, contact us through the Support page. We will respond as required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If you have an unresolved concern, you may also lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority in your country of residence, place of work, or the place of the alleged issue.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please don't send highly sensitive information through messages.

Children's privacy

The Service is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from minors. Parents and guardians can use browser and operating-system parental-control tools to limit what children submit online. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

International users

We are based in the United States and process information here. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you consent to processing in the U.S., which may have different data-protection laws than your country.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new date and, where appropriate, notify you of material changes.
